About the Masterclasses
Royal Institution Mathematics Masterclasses are run at a wide range of locations across the UK with the aim of encouraging, inspiring and engaging young people in the art and practice of mathematics. A series of masterclasses is held annually in Cheltenham in the Autumn term for the benefit of students in Year 9 (13/14 year olds) attending schools in the North Gloucestershire area.
Classes are held on Saturday mornings, and students are invited on the basis of teacher recommendations. For further background information, including a list of which schools participate, see the Frequently Asked Questions page, and a list of classes from recent series. Information about the last series of classes can be found on the Curriculum page. For more information, have a look at our Annual Report for 2008 (Microsoft Word required).
